Yasmina’s dress… Was not what I expected to buy. It was a Fish Tail shape by Art Couture from Fiona Todhunter. No embellishment. Ivory in colour with a drop waist corset type bodice and sweetheart neckline. The skirt split into two layers of lace and the train was really long. I also wore a Cathedral length Veil which extended just over the end of the train of the dress. It was described as dramatic by a guest and I was very happy with that description.

Diane’s dress… I got my dress in The Bridal Corner in Glasnevin, it was the first shop I went into that day, the girls were so nice and I tried so many styles – I soon realised that I was drawn to a simpler style. I decided on an Enzoani Dress, silk Crepe, with embellished back. I was drawn to the dress as it was such a comfortable dress to wear, I thought for the day I wanted a dress that I was able to go to the bathroom without having to be helped in and out of the dress and of course I could dance in. I felt elegant and I liked the clean lines on the dress, the feel of the material and felt that the embellished back and dramatic train added something special. I had a great experience dealing with the Bridal Corner and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Lesley Ann’s dress… was sand ivory with French lace. I bought my dress from The Bridal Outlet over a year before my wedding day. My Mam and I had made an appointment to get a few ideas and I ended up falling in love with my dress on the day. I originally had a different style in mind which ended up being the wrong style for me. You definitely need to try on a few different styles before settling on one.

Tammy’s dress… I had gone to four different shops and the fourth shop was the Bridal Boutique in Fairview. The girls were brilliant. I fell in love with the first one I tried on. It was perfect, everything I wanted in a dress. I felt so beautiful in it.

My dress… I got my dress in Alexanders Bridal in Parnell St Dublin. Tina was so helpful. I had a crisis and fell in love with two dresses. They both had different elements I loved but one was way over budget. I wasn’t sure of how the one I could afford was sitting on me and began to have a total freak out over the whole process. I went back into Tina in Alexanders and she fit both dresses on me again and listened to all my worries and fears. Eventually, they had to tell me about a huge surprise. My amazing mother-in-law had paid for whatever dress I wanted to get. I really couldn’t be more grateful as I was finally able to pick my dream dress and relax about that element of the wedding!

Kaley’s dress… I had been researching dresses for ages and every time I saw a boho one I loved, I couldn’t help but thinking “It’s like any summer dress I could buy anywhere.” I stumbled across Eliza Jane Howell dresses and fell in love. After trying a few stores, I went to Frilly Frocks and I fell in love with 3 dresses! I had seen the embellished cape as I walked in the door and I knew I had to have it. So it was just a matter of deciding which dress would suit the cape best! I finally settled on a fully embellished figure-hugging number which felt right.

Jennifer’s dress… I got my dress in My Fair Lady Bridal in Monaghan. It’s Mori Lee and it’s called Musidora. I saw the dress online and made a booking to try it on. It was the first dress I tried on and I knew instantly that it was my wedding dress. The girls in My Fair Lady are so lovely and helpful and really made me feel special. I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Sarah’s dress… I found a designer online called Rime Arodaky and fell in love with all of her dresses. We went up to Newry to a bridal boutique called The White Gallery to try on a couple of her designs. I fell in love with her ‘Adele’ dress. It was the first bridal dress shop I went to but I knew it was the one when I tried it on.

The ladies working there, especially Laura, were incredibly helpful and kind and provided me and my bridal party with a wonderful shopping experience. Oksana Mustak in Drogheda did the all the alterations to make it fit perfectly. My beautiful flat shoes were Ted Baker.
