Meteor Showers debuted at the SiSposaitalia Collezioni in Milan earlier this summer, impressing those present with contemporary cuts and vintage-inspired ornamentation brought together in celestial Goddess-like glory!
Looking beyond the sky for inspiration, Lusan Mandongus has created this year’s most cosmic collection of wedding dresses. We’re drawn in by the theatricality of each piece, achieved through the use of starry-like embellishments including rows of beading “resembling the planetary tracks of the Milky Way”, translucent fabrics and fanciful features such as double capes and back details.
On some of the more contemporary pieces, airy gauze works with ornamentation to catch the light and create a space-like sense of depth and subtle movement. A specially designed lace pattern adds a magical feel to others – like quasars shining through an endless night… Of course there is a delicate elegance to each of these pieces which is achieved by flared, mermaid style silhouettes (a signature of the Lusan Mandongus styles) and vintage-inspired fastenings and finishes.
The collection also gives a nod to current bridal trends with off-the-shoulder features and statement backs, which ground each creation and make them very wearable. We love this collection of sophisticated starlit creations, and can’t wait to see how they illuminate Irish brides in the future!
